Warrenton senior Randy McRoberts signed his letter of intent to play basketball at Judson University (Elgin, Ill.) next season.
McRoberts averaged 9.8 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.8 assists this season while helping lead Warrenton to an 18-9 record.
“It feels pretty good,” McRoberts said. “I’ve been thinking about it for a while, so it’s nice to finally sign.”
Judson, an NAIA program in the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference, finished 10-20 last season under Head Coach Brian Thrift.
“Their coach has been there for two years and he has the program going in the right direction, so I’m excited,” McRoberts said.
The Warrenton senior said he searched for a college with a good architecture program that offered basketball as well, and Judson became the best fit.
“We only have a few architecture schools in Missouri, and this was one of the closest with basketball,” he said, adding that he plans on getting back in the gym and fine-tuning his game before heading to college next fall.
“I just want to get better at ball-handling because I’ll be more of a guard up there,” he said.
