PHOTO GALLERY: Wright City East Elementary visits Coastal Cold Storage Refrigeration Plant

Posted

First grade students from Wright City East Elementary visited the Coastal Cold Storage Refrigeration Plant on a “meet the neighbors” field trip on the morning of May 2. Students heard from President John Dunard and Jamie Gladney with Coastal Cold Storage about what they do at the plant and how it works.

Before students visited the warehouse, where temperatures hover around 34 degrees, Gladney told students about what kind of products they store there, like frozen foods.

She told students one item they keep in their warehouse is frozen chicken nuggets and asked them if they liked those. The answer was a resounding “yes!”

Students were also given glow sticks in place of traditional high-vis vests and received Coastal Cold Storage wristbands at the end of their visit.
