Warrenton kids had the opportunity to decorate their own sugar cookies, make crafts, win prizes, write letters to Santa and have their pictures taken with Jolly Old St. Nicholas during the Cookies With Santa event Dec. 9 at the Warrenton Annex.
The event was sponsored by the Warrenton Aquatic Center, and developed out of the experience Aquatics Director Lisa Kramer had before coming to Warrenton.
“Instead of doing a full-fledged breakfast, I decided to do a cookies with Santa so that we can make it free to the community,” she said.
There were two sessions of Cookies With Santa, and Kramer said both had about 85 people registered, far more than the initial 50 they had planned.
“We’re just going to be a little squished because Santa doesn’t want to turn anyone away,” she said.
