Sarah Munney 1920-2010  Sarah Munney, nee Condra, 90, Warrenton, passed away Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at New Florence Nursing and Care Center.  Mrs. Munney was born Jan. 31, 1920, in Nashville, Tenn., the daughter of John Condra and wife Lois, nee Noland. She was united in marriage to Edward Smith Munney on April 7, 1951, in Nashville, Tenn. They celebrated 53  years of marriage.  Mrs. Munney was a secretary for the AFL-CIO union in Maryland state. She was a member of the DAR, the American Legion Auxiliary and Smith Creek United Methodist Church, all in Warrenton.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Edward, in 2004, two sons, John and Eddie, and one brother, John. Mrs. Munney is survived by one daughter, Lois Carey and husband Bob, Warrenton; one brother, Tom Condra, Donelson, Tenn.; four grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.  Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, at 11 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main, Warrenton. Burial will follow at Smith Creek United Methodist Church Cemetery in Warrenton. Memorials to USO in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred. Hinnah 1923-2010  Warner Louis Calvin Hinnah, 87, was born on the family farm northeast of Marthasville on Oct. 2, 1923, to William Hinnah and wife Pauline, nee Foeller. He peacefully passed away on Nov. 4, 2010, in the same house where he was born and lived his entire life.  He was baptized as an infant at St. Paul's Church in Marthasville and confirmed there in his Christian faith in 1938. He received his education at Cedar Valley School near his home. On March 6, 1954, Mr. Hinnah was united in marriage to Bernice Richterkessing. They celebrated 56 years of marriage.  He was a farmer, a diesel mechanic at Mid-American Coaches in Washington for 26 years, and a woodworker. He was happiest at home on the family farm in his workshop. He will be missed for his wisdom and good attitude.  The woodworking pieces that Mr. Hinnah made will be treasured by his family and friends.  He was preceded in death by his mother in 1937, and his father in 1963. Mr. Hinnah is survived by his wife, Bernice; one son, Dennis Hinnah and wife Deborah, Anchorage, Alaska; three daughters, Susan Miesner and husband Roger, and Karen Hinnah, all of Marthasville, and Elaine Hinnah and Paul Konopacki, Eureka; one sister, Vada Hinnah, Marthasville; three grandchildren, Aaron Miesner, Marthasville, Kendall Hinnah, Huntsville, Ala., and Morgan Hinnah, Anchorage, Alaska; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 8, at St. Paul's United Church of Christ with the Rev. George Dohm officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.  Memorials to the church or to St. John's Mercy Hospice in care of Martin Funeral Home, 510 E. Main St., Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.  The family was served by Lichtenberg-Martin Funeral Home, Marthasville.   Jewel L. Robinett 1925-2010 Jewel L. Robinett, 85, Wright City, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2010, at New Florence Nursing Center in New Florence. Mrs. Robinett was born Sept. 15, 1925, in St. Louis. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Robinett was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Armel "Dutch" Robinett, one son, Roger Dale Robinett, one brother, Oren Lee "Bud" Metts, and one sister, Lorraine A. Waldrop.  She is survived by one son, Kenneth Robinett and wife Nellie, Wright City; one brother, Jim Metts, St. Peters; three grandsons, Kenneth Robinett Jr., Matthew Robinett and Michael Robinett, all of Wright City; one granddaughter, Patricia "Patty" Robinett, Wright City; other relatives and many friends. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 11, at 10 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton. Burial will be in Warrenton City Cemetery.  Memorials to American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 126, Warrenton, MO 63383 are preferred.  The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.   George J. Van Doren 1942-2010 George Joseph Van Doren, (aka George of the Jungle), 67, Bellflower, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2010, at his home surrounded by family.  Mr. Van Doren was born Dec. 28, 1942, in St. Louis, the son of Ambrose Van Doren and wife Amy, nee O'Malia. He was later raised by his stepfather, Hal Cantrell.  He was united in marriage to Gloria Ann Spoto on May 6, 1961, in St. Louis. They were married for 49 years. George and Gloria moved to Bellflower and called that community  home for 45 years. He will now be three blocks up the road from home at the Bellflower Cemetery.  Mr. Van Doren enlisted and served in the Army Airborne on Feb. 13, 1961, and was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C., and later served in Korea. He returned home on Feb. 1, 1964. He also served as a reservist until Feb. 12, 1967. He was employed by National Food Stores as a truck driver and drove for the company for over 30 years until the company closed and George retired.  After his retirement, his son, Steve, convinced George to drive a school bus for Jerry Schwartz. George considered this his favorite occupation. He loved all the kids, teachers and other drivers and cherished his years as "George of the Jungle," which the students of Montgomery County R-II and Wesleyan Christian School nicknamed him. George enjoyed helping with Cub Scouts. The boys and their families and friends were what he was all about.  Mr. Van Doren was preceded in death by his parents, his stepfather, one brother-in-law, Mike Schneider, and one sister-in-law, Mary Newhouse. He is survived by his wife, Gloria Van Doren, Bellflower; four sons, Anthony (Tony) Van Doren and wife Robin, Bellflower, Thomas (Tom) Van Doren, Montgomery City, Timothy (Tim) Van Doren and wife Roberta, Dittmer, and Steven (Steve) Van Doren and wife Missy, Jonesburg; eight grandchildren, Nick, Crystal and Jessica Van Doren, Montgomery City, Darin, Emma and Amelia Van Doren, Dittmer, and Victoria (Tori) and Dalton Van Doren, Jonesburg; two brothers, Joe Van Doren and Kevin Cantrell, both of St. Louis; one sister, Carol Schneider, St. Louis; brothers- and sisters-in law, Joe and Shirley Spoto and family and Gary and Lillian Newhouse and family; eight great-grandchildren; 13 nieces and nephews; many great family members and friends.  Funeral services were held Saturday, Nov. 6, at Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg.  Burial with military honors was held in the Bellflower Cemetery in Bellflower. Memorials to Help Hospital Veterans in care of Harding Funeral Home, P.O. Box 186, Jonesburg, MO 63351 are preferred.  Condolences to the family may be made at www.hardingfh.com. The family was served by Harding Funeral Home, Jonesburg. Graveside services for Shirley A. Cooper, 77, Warrenton, will be held Friday, Nov. 12, at 1 p.m. at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Springfield. Mrs. Cooper died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Jonesburg Nursing Center in Jonesburg. She is survived by family and friends. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
Visitation for Bob Gene Howard, 78, Warrenton, will be held Friday, Nov. 12, from 9-10 a.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Highway 47, Warrenton. Funeral services will follow at the funeral home. Burial will be private. Mr. Howard died Monday, Nov. 8, 2010, at St. Joseph Health Center in St. Charles. He is survived by five sons, Bob Howard Jr., Buddy Howard, Kibby Howard, Brady Howard and Tony Taylor; three daughters, Bonnie Howard, Patty Howard and Megan Howard; other relatives and many friends.The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.
Funeral services for Elmer Mittler, 83, New Melle, were held Monday, Nov. 8, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in New Melle. Burial was in the church cemetery. Mr. Mittler died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield. He is survived by four sons, Michael Mittler and wife Beverly, Thomas Mittler and wife Jan, Chuck Mittler and wife Barb, and Paul Mittler and wife Connie; three daughters, Ann Mittler, Nancy Meyers and husband Roger, and Carol Feiste and husband Glenn; other relatives and many friends. The family was served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
