Mrs. Janice Lee (nee: Roetemeyer) White

Mrs. Janice Lee (nee: Roetemeyer) White, of Marthasville, MO., passed away on Monday, May 10, 2021, with her family by her side. She was born in Harrisburg, IL., on January 27, 1943, to the late Ray and Mildred (nee: Schomberg) Roetemeyer. Janice had reached the age of 78 years.

Janice moved with her family to Holstein, MO., at the age of 3 and lived in Warren County all her life. She was united in marriage to LeRoy Sam White on May 20, 1961, in Holstein. They spent 54 wonderful years together before his passing in 2015. To this union three children were born; Carl, Kurt, and Teresa. Janice and her husband were the owners of Lee and Jan's "Our Place in Treloar for 23 years. Janice was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved spending time with her family and her dear friend, Karen Oakley. Janice enjoyed reading, cooking, and sewing. She also enjoyed dressing up for Halloween and "snowbirding" with her friends in Florida. Janice was a member of Holstein United Church of Christ in Holstein. Her church and church family played a very important role in her life.

Janice was preceded in death by her husband LeRoy White; her parents, Ray and Mildred Roetemeyer; three siblings, Carol Buxton and husband Rodger, Mary Prior and husband Frank, Virginia Schroeder and husband Elroy; one sister in law, Annette "Toni" Roetemeyer; two nieces, Sheila Kopmann, Geri Roetemeyer; three nephews, Frankie Prior, Rick Buxton, and Donny Kopmann. Those grateful for sharing in Janice's life are her children, Carl White and wife Patsey, Kurt White and wife Elaine, Teresa Bunge and husband Steve; 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; four brothers, Ronnie Roetemeyer and wife Sue, Randy Roetemeyer and wife Karen, Keith Roetemeyer, Brian Roetemeyer and Peggy; one sister in law, Juanita Purcell and husband Bob; many other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Janice's life will be held on Friday, May 14, 2021, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. at Holstein United Church of Christ in Holstein. A graveside service will follow at the Holstein UCC Cemetery.
