MoDOT to shift westbound I-70 lanes between Wentzville Parkway, Foristell weigh station

Posted

Crews with the Improve I-70 Warrenton to Wentzville Project will shift westbound Interstate 70 lanes between Wentzville Parkway and the Foristell weigh station (mile marker 205.4- 208) starting overnight Wednesday, November 11. All work is weather permitting.

Traffic will shift onto the newly constructed pavement to allow crews to construct the permanent median barrier. To complete the traffic switch, westbound I-70 will be reduced to one lane during nighttime hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Eastbound I-70 may have intermittent left lane closures during nighttime hours from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Westbound traffic will shift to the final lane configuration; however, the new third lane of I-70 will remain closed.  Two lanes of traffic will be maintained on I-70 during peak travel times, and the speed limit will remain 55 miles per hour throughout the work zone.

Motorists are encouraged to pay attention in work zones, drive the posted work zone speed limit, and allow extra time for travel.  All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change.
