Melba L Roloff

Mrs. Melba Louisine Alvena Roloff, (nee: Schoppenhorst) of Marthasville, passed away on Sunday, June 25, at the New Haven Care Center. She was born on August 31, 1934, in Marthasville to the late Orrin and Irene (nee: Mische) Schoppenhorst. She had reached the age of 88 years.

Melba was a lifelong resident of Warren County. She graduated from Marthasville High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to Herbert Frederick Roloff on October 6, 1956, at Immanuel UCC in Holstein. They celebrated over 66 wonderful years together. This union was blessed with three children. Melba worked at the Langenberg Hat Factory, the Marthasville Record and was part owner of The Gables restaurant in Marthasville. She then worked at Emmaus Homes and TemCo. She and Herbert attended and were members of St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville. Melba enjoyed quilting, going on the Branson trips and going to dances. She also was very fond of her grandchildren and attending their various events. Melba was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to many. 

Melba Roloff was preceded in death by her parents, Orrin and Irene Schoppenhorst; one son, Randy Roloff; son-in-law, Michael Juntti; brother-in-law, Rueben Eichmeyer; father and mother-in-law, Charles Sr. and Ruth Roloff; one brother-in-law, Charles Roloff Jr. Surviving family members include her loving husband, Herbert Roloff; her children, Rocky Roloff and wife Brenda and Rhonda Juntti; three grandchildren, Brandon and Derik Roloff and Brian Juntti; one sister, Mabel Eichmeyer; one sister-in-law, Delores Ruether; several nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends.

The family will host a Celebration of Melba's life at St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville on Friday, July 7, from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. They will then honor her with a funeral service beginning at 12 P.M. with Rev. Don Deeker officiating. A burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial donations made in honor of Melba are suggested to St. Paul's UCC Memorial Fund, c/o Martin Funeral Home.
