Maurice Herman Mittler

Mr. Maurice Herman Mittler, of Washington,  passed away on Friday, January 3. He was born on October 20, 1940 in Marthasville, to the late Walter H and Lydia (nee: Borgman) Mittler. He had reached the age of 84 years.

Maurice was united in marriage to Mary Frances Margaret Brakemeyer on April 23, 1960 in Smith Creek. They celebrated 64 wonderful years together. This union was blessed with three children, Pamela, Phillip and Maury. Maurice was employed as a Service Manager in the auto industry for many years and retired from Melton Machine in Washington. He enjoyed being outdoors, going hunting and fishing. He could also be found just hanging out on the front porch. Maurice and Mary were also active members of St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville for many years. He was a sports fan and liked to watch a variety of sporting events on TV. Maurice was a family man and his family was very important to him. One of his greatest joys came from spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Maurice was a loving and devoted Christian, husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.

Mr. Mittler was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Lydia Mittler; one brother, Floyd Mittler; two sister in laws, Geraldine Mittler and Louise Brakemeyer. He is survived by his loving wife Mary Mittler; his children, Pamela Mutert and husband David, Phillip Walter Mittler and significant other, Sarah Rogers, Maury Marvin Mittler and wife Susan; five grandchildren, Eric Mutert, Katelyn Mittler, Shawn Mittler and wife Rayna, Lane Mittler and fiancée Erica, Kristen Wade and husband Jake; three great grandchildren, Rhett, Jonah and Charlotte; two brother in laws, Emmanuel Brakemeyer and wife Rosalind and David Brakemeyer; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Maurice Mittler's family will host a visitation on Saturday, January 11, at St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville from 9 A.M. - 11 A.M. There will also be a funeral service on January 11, beginning at 11 A.M. at the church. A burial will follow at the St. Peters UCC Cemetery in Washington. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville or to St. Peters Cemetery Fund in honor of Maurice Mittler.
