Mary Catherine (Nee: Gregory) Gardner of Warrenton, MO, departed this life peacefully at home, surrounded by her family, May 20, 2021. She was born August 12, 1941, in Wellston, MO, to Clarence and Madeline (Nee: McCullen) Gregory. She had reached the age of 79 years.
Mary was married to David Edward Gardner on October 24, 1959, in St Louis, MO. They were married for 55 wonderful years before his passing in 2015. She was recognized internationally at the La Leche League Conference in Chicago, IL, in 1972 along with Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco. Mary was a faithful member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton. She enjoyed swimming in her pool and occasionally traveling to see loved ones. She was also a talented seamstress and a prolific crochetier. Mary's greatest love was spending time with family and dear friends. She had a magical way with babies, wayward youth, and an instant rapport with almost anyone she met.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Madeline; husband, David Gardner; siblings, Hugh McCullen, Lewis Gregory, Judith Gardner; sons, Gregory Joseph Gardner and Matthew Joseph Gardner. Those who are grateful for having shared in Mary's life are her children, Madeline Strubberg (Robert), Miriam Schaefer (Eric), Richard Gardner, Brian Gardner (Suzanne Nee: Gierer), Melinda Niemann (Thomas), Mary Laurette Brennan (Philip); Brent Crow, sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; siblings, Anthony Gregory (Louise), John Gregory (Karen), Patricia Gregory (Robert Linhares); and many other friends and family.
A Catholic Mass will be held Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at 5:00 p.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton, MO. A private family visitation was held prior.
