It is with great sorrow and regret that we have to announce that on Tuesday, June 23, Marvin Herman Engelage passed away at 9:35 p.m. at the age of 87 years and 7 months. His loving wife, daughter, and son were by his side.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruby Engelage; and one sister, Virginia Bierbaum. He is survived by his loving wife, Ellen; one son, Kirk Engelage and wife Joell of Marthasville; one daughter, Kim Kelemen and husband Jason of Cuba; four grandchildren, Jodie and Cole Kelemen of Cuba; and Joshua and Adrianna Engelage of Marthasville; one niece, Brenda Nadler and husband, Greg; one nephew, Ronald Bierbaum and wife Carolyn.

Marvin was born November 6, 1938 in a little white house in Marthasville. He graduated from Warren County R-III high school in Warrenton. He worked full time with his dad, Harold and Uncle Eldon Engelage on the farm. He married the love of his life, Ellen on September 14, 1968. He took over the farm operations years later when his dad retired. Together Marvin and Ellen had two children, Kirk and Kim. He was a member of Marthasville United Church of Christ his whole life. He was on the Marthasville Ambulance board for 25 years, and he was also a member of the Pork Producers and Cattlemen's Association. Marvin had a real passion for his family, the farm, and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. Marvin was a selfless person and would do anything for anybody. He was beloved by a countless number of friends and family. He instilled Christian values in his son and daughter and everyone he came in contact with. He worked hard to provide a wonderful life for his wife and children. He retired from farming at the age of 83 years, but wouldn't tell you that he was retired, just that he slowed down. Marvin was a kind soul. Marvin and Ellen spent 57 wonderful years together. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten.

A Visitation for Marvin will be held Tuesday, June 30, from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. The Funeral Service will be held at 10 A.M. on Wednesday, July 1, at St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville, with a burial to follow at St. Paul's Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to the Homestead 4H club or St. Paul's Cemetery in Marthasville.
