Marthasville aldermen approved a $1.3 million budget during the June 21 monthly board of aldermen meeting.
The budget includes slightly more than $1 million in revenue to go with a starting balance of more than $2.5 million.
The budget covers the next fiscal year, which begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2024.
An examination of the city’s budget shows no significant changes from the budget that covered from July 1, 2022, to June 30, 2023.
“As you can see, we’re in pretty good shape financially,” Marthasville Mayor David Lange told the aldermen.
He also explained that the budget was just a “guideline.”
“Any time the board wants to spend less or more money, you know you can,” Lange said. “We’ve got to amend the budget every year when we miss something. … We’ve got to amend that line item and pass an amended budget next year.”
The budget vote passed the board 3-0. Alderman Nicholas Lange was absent.
