Martha Maryanna Bowen

Mrs. Martha Maryanna Bowen (nee: Mohrstadt) of Warrenton, passed away on Sunday, June 25, at her home.  She was born on September 16, 1938, in Cape Girardeau, to the late Adolf and Zelda (nee: Zimmer) Mohrstadt. She had reached the age of 84 years.

Martha earned her Bachelors Degree in Education and worked at the University of Missouri Extension Center. She managed several departments, including Child and Family Development.  She also enjoyed designing clothes. Martha was united in marriage to Paul G Bowen on March 12, 1967, in Advance. They spent 39 wonderful years together before his passing in 2006. Martha was a member of College United Methodist Church in Warrenton for many years. She loved to collect several different things, including dolls and cats. She was a talented artist and loved to paint and draw. Martha was a devoted Christian, wife, mother, grandmother and friend to many.

Martha Bowen was preceded in death by her husband, Paul; her parents, Adolf and Zelda. She is survived by her stepdaughter, Kelly Wray; four grandchildren, Shawn Krause, Angelina Krause, DJ Wray and Nicholas Wray; two great-grandchildren, Jacob and Brody; other relatives and several close friends. 

The family will be hosting a Celebration of Martha's life on Thursday, June 29, at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. They will then honor her with a funeral service beginning at 12 P.M. with Pastor Bill LaMora officiating. A burial will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to be made to CUMC in memory of Martha.
