Marguerite ”Marge” Blanche Bean Hendel of High Hill, MO passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, at BJC St. Peters Hospital at the age of 77. She was born on March 24th, 1942 in Ferguson, MO to the late Raymond and Delma Bean.

Marge graduated from Pike County Vocational School with a nursing degree.  She spent around 45-50 years in nursing and most of her career she worked in nursing homes in the surrounding counties.  While working in Jonesburg Nursing Home, Marge met Max Hendel Jr., who was visiting his mother at the time. Max later asked Marge if she wanted to go out for dinner, she said yes and the rest is history.  Marge married Max on Jan. 16, 1987 in Warrenton.

Marge was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Delma, and her daughter Cheryl King.  She is survived by her husband, Max, her children, and their spouses: Raymond and Kristin Keppler, Jason Keppler, Elissa Aulgur, Karen Christine and Michael Slayden, as well as 8 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 2 dogs, and a 3-legged cat.

In her free time, Marge enjoyed shopping, gardening, watching movies, reading mystery novels, attending craft shows, and loved animals. Marge was an amazing wife, mother, friend, and nurse.  She was always there when anyone needed help and wasn’t afraid to tell people how it was, which we all loved.  This is how she got the nickname “Sarge Marge.”

Marge will be greatly missed and forever in our hearts. Per Marge’s wishes, she will be cremated but there will not be any services.

Obit for Marge Hendel
