Mrs. Marcella Jean Nienhaus - Newman, (nee: Quinn) of Marthasville, passed away on Wednesday, January 24. She was born on May 12, 1934, in St. Louis. Marcella had reached the age of 89 years.
Marcella had a love for animals, especially her beloved horses. She was very involved in raising, showing, buying, and judging horses as a member of both the AQHA and IBHA. Marcella was united in marriage to Marvin Nienhaus and was happily married for 30 years before his passing. To this union, two daughters were born, Debbie and Michele. She was then married to Ronald Newman for 23 years before his passing. She thoroughly enjoyed spending her time with her family, especially her daughters, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Marcella was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to many.
Marcella Newman was preceded in death by her loving husbands, Marvin Nienhaus and Ronald Newman; her parents, Clarence and Ruth Quinn and Melva Tongay; one daughter, Michele Nienhaus; one sister, Joyce Denen; and a very special friend, William Oglesby. Those family members who are grateful for having shared in Marcella's life are her daughter, Debbie Gilmore; five grandchildren, Karey Owens, Molly Love (Jason), Erin Williams (Adam), Megan Bayless (Brett) and Marvin "Shay" Nienhaus; nine great grandchildren, Madysen, Ian, Bailey, Maggie, Claire, Caitlin, Grayson, Thea, and Evelyn; two sisters, Ruth "Sise" Irving and Diane Sacks; other relatives and many friends.
Mrs. Newman's family will host a Celebration of her Life with a visitation on Monday, January 29, from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. A Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 30, at 10 A.M. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church also in Warrenton. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in St. Louis.
