Mr. Lonnie Levi Butler, of East Canton, OH, formerly of High Hill, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side. Lonnie was born in Swifton, Arkansas on May 3, 1947, to the late Ethelbert and Gladys (nee: Koller) Butler. He had reached the age of 78 years.
Lonnie lived life characterized by humor, pride, and a deep love for his family. He was a graduate from Swifton High School in Arkansas and then he honorably served his country in the United States Army. Lonnie was employed as a maintenance man at the Laborers Union training facility for 25 years, a testament to his commitment, he worked hard everyday, and loved his job. He dedicated much of his time to cherished pastimes, including being outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and carpentry. Most of all, memories with his family and friends. Lonnie was a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and brother. He was definitely a man of few words, but very mighty. He will be missed by so many.
Lonnie is survived by his devoted wife, Karen Butler; six children, Tammy, DaWayne, Jason, Rachael, Branndon, Alisha; nine grandchildren, DJ, Jason, Jessica, Chad, Kyle, Megan, Noah, Kodi, Abel; seven great grandchildren, Matt, Taylor, Aiden, Carter, Joey, Lucy, Rose, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Ethelbert and Gladys Butler; one sister, Virginia; and five brothers, Ralph, Paul, Johnny, Doug, and Elsworth.
The family will host a visitation for Lonnie Levi Butler at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton, on Wednesday, November 12, from 4 P.M. - 7 P.M. A funeral service will be Thursday, November 13, beginning at 9 A.M. also at Martin Funeral Home. Lonnie will be buried at Jacksonville Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO, with full military honors at 1 P.M. following the funeral service.
