Citizens wanting to take leadership roles in local school districts, city governments, and emergency service agencies can begin registering for elected next week.
Candidate filing for spring municipal elections opens on Dec. 6 and ends on Dec. 27. Candidates must file documents for their candidacy in December in order to have their name on the ballot.
For municipal elections, filing is done through the offices of each individual city government, school district, or emergency agency (unless otherwise noted). Candidates should check with the relevant office to ask about any filing fee or eligibility requirement.
These are the positions up for election this April in Warren County:
Three positions on the school board are available, each with a three-year term. Currently held by Rodger Tucker, Franci Schwartz and Rich Barton.
Candidate filing is at Warren County R-III Central Office on West Veterans Memorial Parkway in Warrenton. For questions, call (636) 456-6901.
Three seats on the school board will be elected to three-year terms. Currently held by Alice Jensen, Heidi Halleman, and Michael Bates.
