To the Editor,
Join me at this year’s memorial run
On Saturday, November 22, the Annual Teresa Scott 5K Memorial Run will be held at 8 a.m. Teresa was a devoted runner having run a marathon, going rim to rim to rim at the Grand Canyon with her brother, and regularly on the streets of Warrenton with her friends.
She started this 5K run/walk in 2003 with the benefits going to the Warren County R-III High School Track Team. After her untimely passing, her running friends continued the 5K in 2018 as an honor to Teresa. Now the funds are divided between the R-III track team and the R-III scholarship fund. This will be the 22nd continuous year for the 5K.
You can join this run/walk by showing up at the middle school gym on Kuhl Avenue. Starting time will be at 8 a.m. You can search far and wide and never find a greater group to run with. There are some quality runners from the past and present R-III team, and one runner who holds the record for the 300-mile Alaska Iditarod, run by daylight hours, and there is not a grouch in the bunch.
I am planning on working in this upcoming 5K. Come and join me. It will make you feel better both physically and emotionally, and add a few dollars for the R-III track team and the scholarship fund.
