To the Editor,
Thank you Warren County. With your help, we have developed, built and maintained the Warren County Tribute to Veterans Memorial – a great community effort.
We normally conduct fundraising activities every year to maintain and improve our site. Unfortunately, because of COVID, we have not been able to do that this year. We have, however, developed sponsorship and guardianship programs to provide for the maintenance, upkeep and improvements to our site.
Sponsorships are $250 per year and guardianships are any amount to defray general costs, such as electric and water bills, maintenance of electronics, irrigation system, security cameras, lights, insurance, etc.
Two sponsors are needed for every flag at the memorial. They have to be replaced frequently because of weather damage and wind. The statues and memorial wall must be professionally polished yearly to keep them from deteriorating.
The following is a list of this year’s sponsors:
American flag — CertainTeen and Prairie View 4-H
Air Force flag — VFW Post 2180 and Prairie View 4-H
Army flag — Re-Max/Karen Clark and Hart Collision/Scott and Meredith Hart.
Marine Corps flag — Richard Scott Haymes Detachment 1393 Marine Corps League and Prairie View 4-H
Navy flag — Specialty AutoBody and Prairie View 4-H
Merchant Marines flag — The Missouri Bank and Prairie View 4-H
POW-MIA flag — Samantha Richardson with Main Street Real Estate and Faith Christian Family Church
Coast Guard flag — Prairie View 4-H and Marthasville American Legion Post 180
Statues — Mosers. We need seven more sponsors for the statues and the wall.
Guardianships — Missouri Bank
This site belongs to all of us. Please give us a hand in keeping it first class. It stands for our appreciation for our veterans and their families. It also stands for our belief in America, and all that we stand for.
