To the Editor,
Lately, I have seen a few news stories in this paper regarding the Hickory Ridge Motorsports track south of Pendleton, in Warren County.
I personally do not understand what the handful of local residents who are opposed to the track are constantly complaining about, much less filing lawsuits.
My family has attended a mud bog event at Hickory Ridge Motorsports track, and we thought it was a well planned, safe, and family friendly place. Yes, we took our children, and yes they even brought friends. The prices were very reasonable for entry. The parking was very organized. There was plenty of bleacher seating. As the sky got dark, a good amount of overhead lighting was provided. There was also safety on site, provided by Warren County Ambulance, and Warren County Sheriff. Most of the crowd was made up of families with children. We saw nothing of concern.
At the event, there was an organization selling barbecue plates, there was a winery selling beverages, and Warren County Handicap Services was there selling candy and soda.
We thought the venue was very well thought out, and it is really nice to have some entertainment options right here close to home in Warren County. Keep up the good work Hickory Ridge, and I will continue to tell others how much fun we had there. Five stars and will go back! And thank you to Warren County Planning and Zoning for recognizing that Warren County needs more family-friendly entertainment options, and keeping this track open.
