Dear Editor,
On Nov. 21, No Time to Spare Animal Rescue and Sanctuary (NTTS) hosted a work day for the Creek Kids children’s ministry from Creekside Place Church. The purpose of this work day was to earn money to purchase items for their shoe boxes to be sent to other countries via the Operation Christmas Child Project through Samaritan’s Purse.
The kiddos were instructed on the basic do’s and don’ts by local dog trainer Luke Smith, owner of “The Pact Smith,” who so generously donated his time to assist throughout the day. The kiddos fed horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, Gus the Donkey and Izzy the abused cow. They visited with the dogs, giving many treats and playing with the puppies.
They went to Dollar Tree, purchased items, returned for a chili supper and together with their parents, packed the boxes enclosing letters along with self-addressed, stamped envelopes to develop pen pal relationships. When all was said and done, we had 18 boxes ready to be shipped.
I want to thank Carol Mosele, owner and CEO of NTTS, for hosting the event, her wonderful volunteers Jenny Thurman-Crouch, Danette Graf and Tanya Caldwell, along with Luke Smith. Sending a couple shout outs, one to the lady at Dollar Tree who donated $20 to the cause, and to Robbie and Mary Earles, owners of Texas Road House in Wentzville who donated free kids meal coupons to all the children who participated. May God richly bless each of you during this Christmas Season.
