Leroy Stevener of Town and Country, formally of Defiance, passed away on July 28, at the age of 86. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet Stevener (nee: Rees).
He is survived by his four sons, Joe (Joyce) Rees of Troy, D. J. Akers of St. Clair, Tony Todaro of Tipton, Mike (Melissa) Houran of Decatur, IL; daughter, Holly (Bobby) Stephens of Brashear; ten grandchildren, Jorden, Liam, Connor, Abel, Alyssa, Brendan, Jessica, Michael, Casey and Abby; six great-grandchildren; two nephews, Orville (Nancy) Stevener of Washington, Bob Stevener of Troy; niece, Judy (Eric) Straatmann of Washington; He is preceded in death by his father, Edwin Stevener, mother, Emma Stevener (nee: Hindersman), wife, Janet Stevener, brother, Orville Stevener, Sr..
Leroy was born January 9, 1938 in St. Charles County, Missouri, to the late Edwin and Emma Stevener. Leroy was a long time farmer, growing grain crops and raising cattle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors. He loved being a part of nature. Leroy will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Visitation will be Monday, August 12, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. The funeral will follow at 6 p.m. The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville. In honor of Leroy, donations may be made to: Alzheimer's Association or Missouri Farmer's Relief Fund.
