Mr. Lawrence Andrew Herbel, of Warrenton, passed away on Friday, February 2. He was born on July 29, 1937, in Wright City, to the late Arthur and Emma (nee: Schwerdt) Herbel. He had reached the age of 86 years.
Lawrence was a lifelong resident of Warren County. He worked as a truck driver for many years. He enjoyed tinkering on old tractors and golf carts and enjoyed being a part of the Old Thrashers. Lawrence loved to "wheel and deal" his way through life. He loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed the time he spent with them. Lawrence was known to be a bit stubborn, and he was always looking for the next deal to come along. He was a caring and loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend to many.
Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur, and Emma; three siblings, Ervin Herbel, Darlene Groeper and Gladys Lopez; one uncle, William Herbel. He is survived by his three children, Robert Herbel, Jim Herbel and wife Linda and Rex Herbel and wife Tammy; four grandchildren, Danny, Katie, Ike, and Elizabeth; several great grandchildren; one sister, Grace Brewer (Harold Hollaway); a special niece, Beth Sosa; other relatives and many close family friends.
Lawrence Herbel's family will host of Celebration of his Life with a visitation on Tuesday, February 6, from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. There will be a Celebration of Life Service beginning at 12 P.M. also at the funeral home. A committal service will follow at the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the Warren County Old Thrasher's Association.
