Mr. Lawerance Archie Fox, of Warrenton, passed away on Friday, November 22, at the age of 77. He was born on October 12, 1947, in Waterloo, IA to the late Sherman and Arbutus (nee: Hamilton) Fox.
Lawerance was united in marriage to Sharon Kay Gersema on August 31, 1968, in Waverly, IA. They spent 56 wonderful years together. This union was blessed with three children, Melissa, Michael, and Shelly. Lawerance was employed as a Master Mechanic and worked for several dealerships over the course of his career, most of them being Ford. He then retired from UPS, where he worked as a Journeyman Mechanic. He was an avid hunter and gun enthusiast. He was also a member of the Missouri Gun & Quail Club. He loved to spend time reading and studying history. He also loved to travel and took his family on several nice vacations. He also thoroughly enjoyed playing cards with his grandchildren and was crowned "Rummy Cube King" by them. Lawerance was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to many and will be dearly missed by all of them.
Lawerance Fox was preceded in death by his parents, Sherman and Arbutus. Those family members who remain grateful for having shared in his life are his loving wife, Sharon K. Fox; children, Melissa S. Cox and husband Jerry, Michael L. Fox, and Shelly M. Leslie; four grandchildren, Aaron R. Olds, Kenzie K. Cox, Collen L. Leslie, Rylee G. Leslie; one great grandchild, Remi M. Leslie; other relatives and close family friends.
Lawerance's family will host a Celebration of Life Visitation on Monday, December 2, at Warrenton Baptist Church from 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. There will also be a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, December 2, beginning at 11 A.M. A burial will follow at Lippstadt Cemetery in Warrenton. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to the Alzheimer's Association c/o Martin Funeral Home.
