Mrs. Joyce Marie Pietzschke (nee: Knox), 90, Warrenton, passed away peacefully, Saturday, Nov. 9, 2019, at Oak Pointe of Warrenton. She was born on March 20, 1929, to Forrest J. and Vida Ruby (nee: Crapson) Knox.
Joyce was united in marriage to Harold Louis Pietzschke of Warrenton, on April 10, 1948. They spent 62 wonderful years together before his passing in 2010. This union was blessed with two daughters, Christine and Peggy. Joyce was a member of St John’s Lutheran Church for over 60 years volunteering with the ladies aid group. She enjoyed traveling around in their motor home with Harold. Branson was their favorite destination. They would also get together and play pinochle with their friends. She also liked to garden and can vegetables.
Joyce was preceded in death by her parents, Forrest and Vida; husband, Harold. She is survived by her two daughters, Christine Witte and husband Bob, Peggy Smith and husband Mike; grandchildren, Patricia Weckherlin and husband Travis, Kevin Smith and wife Sarah, Kyle Smith and wife Lindsay; five great-grandchildren, Allouette, Kailynn, Kason, Jack, and Luke; many other friends and family.
Visitation was held Wednesday, Nov. 13, at St John’s Lutheran Church, 10:00 a.m.-noon.
Funeral Services followed at the church, at noon.
Interment was at Warrenton City Cemetery.
