Joyce Lorraine Bayliss (Shafferkoetter), age 82, of Warrenton passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2022. She is survived by her loving husband, Marcus Albert Bayliss; her three daughters, Janice Lorraine Stephens (Rick), Julie Lynn Martin (Randy), and Jennifer Marie Payne (Raymond); her grandchildren, Lindsey Anne Wilkins (Drew), Erin Elizabeth Decker (Ross), Whitney Anne Odor (Joel), Austin Lee Rinbarger, Samantha Marie Rinabarger, and Nathan Joseph Rinabarger; and 15 great-grandchildren.
Joyce was born in Union, MO, on February 5, 1940. She is the 9th of 10 children born to Perry Edmund and Ada Frances (Hendrix) Shafferkoetter. Joyce spent a good portion of her adult life in Glendale, MO, where she was a member of Glendale Presbyterian Church. Joyce was a Social Worker with a Master’s Degree from St. Louis University and worked with underprivileged children and families. Joyce was known for having a heart for hospitality, and she welcomed everyone into her home for coffee and fellowship. Joyce had a heart for the Lord and was a part of her local church in Warrenton.
Visitation will be held Friday, May 13, 2022, from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will immediately follow.
