A man from Jonesburg has been charged with burglary and assault for allegedly forcing his way into a home in Truesdale, intending to start a fight.

Darrell W. Robinson, 47, was arrested and charged on Jan. 15, according to court records. The Warren County Sheriff’s Department reported that Robinson was taken into custody during a disturbance at a home on Smith Street in Truesdale.

Witnesses at the scene reportedly told deputies that Robinson had forced his way into an apartment and pushed a woman who lives there. Deputies said the woman had bruising and abrasions.

Robinson was taken into custody at the apartment and reportedly talked at length with deputies about why he was there. According to deputies, Robinson believed his girlfriend had been cheating on him with someone he knew.

Robinson allegedly came to the victim’s apartment and began banging on doors and windows, and began throwing things outside. The woman eventually answered the door, at which point Robinson allegedly grabbed her and pushed her away, knocking her into a wall.

Robinson reportedly stated that he intended to find the other man at the residence and fight him.

In information submitted to the Warren County Circuit Court, deputies reported that Robinson has multiple prior convictions for burglary and domestic assault.

Warren County prosecutors issued a third-degree domestic assault charge again Robinson, a class E felony, but the more severe charge is for first-degree burglary, which is a class B felony. The burglary charge is more serious because someone was in the residence when Robinson allegedly entered unlawfully.

Robinson is being held at the Warren County Jail without bond. A bond review hearing was scheduled for Jan. 25.
