Joan Ruth Warren passed away at Warrenton Manor on December 17, at the age of 83.
Joan was born October 18, 1940 in St. Louis, to the late James and Ethel Buffington. Joan was one of 12 children with 6 boys and 6 girls. Joan attended Peabody Grade School in St. Louis, Normandy Junior and Senior High in Normandy. Joan was united in marriage at the age of 18 to Bobby J. Warren on October 20, 1958 at Caroline Mission Church in St. Louis where Joan had attended as a child. Joan worked most of her life doing factory work, as well as a cook at Jonesburg Nursing until retiring. Joan was a member of Grace Chapter Eastern Star 323 in Warrenton.
She is survived by husband Bobby J. Warren of Jonesburg; 5 children, Glenda (Dan) Gardner, Vickie (David Harlan) Warren, Joe L. Warren, Robert (Rachel) Warren, Teresa R. Warren; 14 Grandchildren, Rachelle (Jay) Matnerich, Steven (Jackie) Coker, Laura (Cole) Gardner, Andrea (Chris) Emery, Melissa Taylor, Amber Taylor, Tonya Warren, Jennifer Jacobs, Chris (Heather) Warren, Bobby (Sarah) Warren, Patience Warren, Levi Warren, Matthew Warren, Bobby Warren; numerous great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild, and sister, Janet Sanders. She is preceded in death by her father, James Howell Buffington, mother, Ethel Mae Buffington and 10 siblings. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A visitation will be held Friday, December 22, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home in Warrenton. The funeral will follow at 3 p.m. Memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society or Autism Center in care of Pitman Funeral Home .
