Mrs. Joan Agnes Meyer (nee: Glosemeyer) of Marthasville, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 13. She was born on February 14, 1941 in Washington, to the late Anthony and Frances (nee: Kopmann) Glosemeyer. She had reached the age of 85 years.
Joan graduated from St. Francis Borgia High School in 1959 and began her working career at Hausgas Garage in Washington, where she worked for several years. She was united in marriage to Leroy Francis Meyer on September 16, 1961 in Concord Hill. This union was blessed with four children, Donna, Diane, Brenda and David. Joan was employed by the Emmaus Home for 33 years. She loved working outside, cutting grass and gardening. She was involved with the Quilts of Valor and was the coordinator for Meals on Wheels for Southern Warren County. She was active in her church, St. Ignatius Catholic Church, where she was a life long member and enjoyed the Ladies Sodality. Joan was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
Joan Meyer was preceded in death by her husband, Leroy Meyer; her parents, Anthony and Frances Glosemeyer; three siblings, Laverne Westhoff, Corine Gildehaus and Norman Glosemeyer; her in-laws, Victor Meyer, Norman Meyer, Marylee Singer, Shelton Singer, Leo Westhoff, Richard Gildehaus, and James Brinker. She is survived by her children, Donna Sahm and husband Steve, Diane Glastetter and husband David, Brenda Lause and husband Chris, David Meyer and wife Denise; grandchildren, Jason Sahm (Katie), Ben Sahm (Andrea), Emma Sahm, Holly Gagner (Brandon), Katlyn Bolin (David), Cody Glastetter, Adam Lause (Amanda), Derek Lause (Emily), Katie Lause, Cole Meyer (Fiancé Maggie), Madison Meyer (Fiancé Nick), and Lexie Meyer; 12 great grandchildren; two sister in-laws, Lorine Brinker and Maria Meyer; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
A visitation for Mrs. Joan Meyer will be held on Monday, April 20, at Martin Funeral Home in Marthasville from 4 P.M. - 8 P.M. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, April 21, beginning at 10 A.M. at St. Ignatius Catholic Church in Concord Hill. A burial will follow at the church cemetery. Memorial donations are requested to be made in honor of Joan Meyer to Masses and to the St. Ignatius Catholic Church.
