Mr. Jerome Charles "Jake" Flake, of Warrenton, MO., passed away at his home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at the age of 76 years. Jake was born on July 26, 1945 to the late Clifford and Mary (nee: Buxbaum) Flake.
Jake was a life long resident of Warren County. He was united in marriage to Jacqueline Carol Schaefer on May 27, 1967 in Hawk Point, MO. He was very proud of being married to Jackie for 54 years. To this union, two children were born; Tracy and Mike. Jake proudly served our country in the Army National Guard of Missouri and was honorably discharged in August of 1971. He worked at Marlen Gas Company as a truck driver for many years. Jake was eventually promoted to management for the gas plant . Jake was an outdoorsman, enjoying gardening, hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed deer hunting and never missed a season in 61 years. He enjoyed playing cards and watching old westerns on TV. Jake made his own wine, which his family and friends liked very much. He also enjoyed his daily trip to the Hide-Out to get his "lottery tickets". Jake was a loving husband to Jackie and loving father to his children. He was also a devoted son, brother and friend to many.
Jake Flake was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Mary Flake; one brother, Eugene "Muzzy" Flake. He is survived by his loving wife, Jackie; his children, Tracy Smith and husband Steve and Mike Flake and wife Christy; five grandchildren, Brandon, Dylan, Travis, Olivia, and Ava; two great grandchildren, Everett and Forrest; two brothers, Fred Flake and Edward Flake and wife Loretta; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends, all of whom are grateful for having shared in Jake's life.
A visitation for Mr. Flake will be held on Sunday, January 9, 2022, 4:00 PM - 8:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, January 10, 2022 beginning at 10:00 AM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Warrenton with Father Vordtreide officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery with full military honors.
