Mr. Hulon Dale McDaniel, of Warrenton, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020. He was born on August 15, 1929, in Overland, MO., to the late Dallas and Gillettie (nee: Barnhill) McDaniel. Hulon had reached the age of 91 years 2 months and 22 days.
Hulon served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War from 1952 - 1954. He was married to Vida Humphreys on September 15, 1951, in Wellston, MO. They celebrated 62 years of marriage before her passing in 2013. Hulon attended the Missouri School of Mines and worked as a Civil Engineer. He developed several properties in cities such as Overland, Troy, and Warrenton. Hulon was united in marriage to Margie Drey (nee: Egelston) on November 26, 2016, at their home in Warrenton. Hulon loved the Lord and was very active with his church family at Fellowship Baptist Church. He started the Men’s Prayer Group on Thursday mornings and was a Deacon at the church. Hulon was a very giving and loving man and was in charge of benevolence at the church. He and Margie also enjoyed Bible Study. Hulon enjoyed playing golf with his friends and being outside on his tractor. Hulon was a very devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
Hulon McDaniel was preceded in death by his first wife, Vida; his parents, Dallas and Gillettie; one son, Steven McDaniel; one brother, Gordon McDaniel. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Margie; his daughters, Julie McDaniel and Linda McDaniel; stepchildren, Rick Drey and Amie Drey; grandchildren, Adam Mort, Jonathan Mort, David Mort, and wife Dana, Brandon Griggs, Carley Griggs, Olivia Scales; great-grandchildren, Paxton Mort, Abby Mort, Holdyn Dent; one brother, Jim McDaniel and wife Beverly; sister in law, Cathy McDaniel; other relatives and many friends.
The family of Hulon Dale McDaniel will be celebrating his life on Thursday evening November 12, 2020, from 3:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. The Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday, November 13, 2020 beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1015 S State Hwy 47, Warrenton, MO 63383. The burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in St. Ann, MO.
