The 2019 Warren County Family Health Fair is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at the Wright City High School gymnasium.
The event kicks off with a 5K walk/run.
“We call it the family health fair, and we welcome all ages,” said Peggy Privett with the Warren County Health Department. “The theme is ‘Home Run to Health.’ ”
Privett said the event, which is offered in rotation with the Warren County Safety Fair, features about 70 vendors.
“We have such a variety of different things as to the vendors who come. So many different ones. Anything health related,” she said.
Representatives will be offering one-on-one information about products and services they provide throughout the region, and some screenings will be offered, including a tine hearing test, glaucoma screenings and chiropractic neurological assessments.
Children will have a chance to make their own first aid kits. The Wright City Police Department will provide child safety ID kits and the Wright City Fire Department will give away bike helmets, while supplies last.
Privett said many vendors will offer giveaways and prizes to guests who visit their booths. She said the Warren County Health Department booth will have drawings for one “boy’s bicycle” and one “girl’s bicycle,” as well as tickets to a Cardinals game.
Other extras include face painting and an exercise class demonstration.
A concession stand will have snacks available to purchase.
Because there’s so much to do, Privett said, “People are there a couple hours, visiting the booths.”
Admission is free.
Privett said past health fairs have attracted 600 to 700 guests throughout the day.
To join the 5K walk/run, sign-up starts at 7 a.m. The walk starts at 8 a.m. Participation is $10. Participants will receive T-shirts while supplies last.
