Mr. Harold Edwin Powley Jr., of Warrenton, passed away at his home on Sunday, November 19, 2023. He was born on October 2, 1928 in Pontiac, IL., to the late Harold Sr. and Ora Mae (nee: Van Doren) Powley. Harold had reached the age of 95 years.
Harold proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Landwehr on October 9, 1948 in Waterloo IL. They recently celebrated 75 wonderful years together. After returning from the military, Harold worked at McDonnell Douglas for over 35 years. While there, he had various positions and responsibilities. He and Mary were members of Grace Bible Church in Warrenton, where he was very involved. He also enjoyed doing wood working in his spare time. Harold was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to many.
Harold Powley Jr., was preceded in death by his paretns, Harold Sr. and Ora Mae Powley; one brother, Ronald Powley. Surviving family members include his loving wife, Mary; four children, Ronald Lee Powley and wife Mary, Beth Holmes and husband Charles, Don Brian Powley and wife Joan and Barb Koffer and husband Charlie; seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
The family of Harold Powley Jr., will host a Celebration of his Life with a visitation on Monday, November 27, 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. at Grace Bible Church in Warrenton. A funeral service will follow, beginning at 12 P.M. with Pastor Mark Meyers officiating. Burial will be at Lakewood Cemetery in St. Louis. Memorial donations are requested to be given to the Grace Bible Building fund in honor of Mr. Powley.
