Harold A. Sterrett, age 100, of O’Fallon passed away on Thursday, June 10, 2021. He was born in August 1920 to the late Claude and Nellie Sterrett. He was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Lorraine Sterrett, and his brothers, Thomas, Louis, Charles, and Clyde, and his sisters, Margaret Beamer and Louise Fair.
He was beloved husband of Lavahn Sterrett for the past fourteen years; loving father of Joyce Sterrett and Connie Leddicotte; and dear grandfather of Matthew Leddicotte; and dear uncle, cousin, and friend to many.
Harold was a University of Missouri Alumni; a WWII U.S. Navy pilot; a faithful deacon and treasurer of Fellowship Baptist Church, Warrenton, Missouri; and a University of Missouri County Extension Agent and Farm Management Specialist for 32 years, serving Francois County, Camden County, Warren County, and the Booneslick area. As well, he was an avid gardener, a perpetual learner, and a generous giver of his time and talents to his church family, the Gideons, Missouri Baptist Disaster Relief Kitchen, Wheels for the World, Right to Life, the Food Pantry of First Baptist Lake St. Louis, and the Mary Martha Thrift Shop.
Visitation for Harold will be from 10:00 a.m.-11:00 a.m. with a Funeral Service to follow immediately at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 18, 2021, at First Baptist Church, O’Fallon, 8750 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, O’Fallon, MO 63366. The family is in the care of Hutchens-Stygar Funeral & Cremation Center (St. Charles). Interment will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park, Mexico, MO.
