Over 800 runners and walkers raced to the finish line to help build a no-kill animal shelter in Warren County.
Innsbrook’s Half Marathon participants contributed $3,000 to “raise the woof” on the new shelter, which will be built between Wright City and Innsbrook on Highway M, just west of Highway F.
The Half Marathon was Nov. 7 at Innsbrook, and it was sponsored by Big River Race Management and Innsbrook Resort.
The $3,000 check was presented recently by Matt Helbig, CEO of Big River Race Management, to leaders of Concerned Citizens for Animal Care of Warren County, the group building the shelter.
