Mr. Grover Emil Hilgedick, of Marthasville went to be with his heavenly father on Saturday, May 24. He was born on February 2, 1935, in Peers, MO to the late Emil and Hattie (nee: Mills) Hilgedick. He had reached the age of 90 years.
Grover was united in marriage to Nancy Almeda Sutton on September 23, 1967, in Las Vegas. They celebrated 47 wonderful years together before her passing in 2014. This union was blessed with three children, Joseph, Ramona, and Susan. Grover worked for various companies over the years all in management positions. He was a long time member of St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and traveling with his wife. He was a sports fan and especially loved watching the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball games on TV. His greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Grover Hilgedick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Nancy; his parents, Emil and Hattie; and his siblings. Family members who will remain grateful for having shared in Grover's life are his children, Ramona Anderson and husband Charles, Sue Gloeckle, Joseph Ballard and wife Sara, his children from his previous marriage, Glennon Hilgedick and wife Barb, Betty McDonald and husband George, Linda Predmore and husband David, Rebecca Thompson and husband Crowell, Donna Frazier and husband Gene; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; other relatives and many close friends.
A Celebration of Grover's life will be held on Monday, June 2, at St. Paul's UCC in Marthasville with a visitation from 10 A.M. - 12 P.M. There will also be a funeral service beginning at 12 P.M. with Pastor Don Deeker officiating. A burial will follow at the St. Paul's UCC Cemetery in Marthasville. All memorial donations are suggested to be given to St. Paul's UCC c/o Martin Funeral Home.
