Mr. Glenwood Roosevelt Turner, of Wright City, MO., passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday August 8, 2020. Glenwood was born on March 16, 1933 in Salem, MO., to the late Espy Lee and Dorothy Silsty (nee: Richardson) Turner. He had reached the age of 87 years, 4 months 23 days.
Glenwood served our country in the United States Marine Corp and he was very proud to be a Marine. Glenwood worked as an over the road truck driver for over 30 years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends and also enjoyed playing cards and bingo. He enjoyed going for drives to the Reifsnider State Forest. Glenwood's greatest joy came from spending time with his family.
Glenwood was preceded in death by his parents, Epsy and Dorothy Turner; three siblings, Ernest Turner, Avis Turner, Delmalee Heller. He is survived by his three children, Joel Turner and wife Carolyn, Rhonda Whelchel and husband Clay, and Glenwood Turner; eight grandchildren, Lance Whelchel, Joshua Arens, Michelle Raines, Scotty Turner, Branden Turner, Allie Tipton, Sherry Hill, Barry Weldy; 10 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; siblings, Zelma Turner and husband Dallas, Ruby Chandler and husband Jessie, Ray Turner and wife Carla, Eugene Turner and wife Polly, Elvin Turner, Merlene O'Vivion and husband Eddie, Ronald Turner and wife Sue, Wanda Smith; other relatives and many friends.
A visitation for Mr. Glenwood Turner will be held on Wednesday August 12, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. Funeral services will begin at 12:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Middletown Cemetery.
