George Edward Smith, 80, of O'Fallon, passed away on Thursday, May 2, at home with his family by his side. George was born on January 23, 1944 in Baltimore City, MD, to the late George B. McDaniel and Gresser (nee:Toliver) Garner.
George was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Family members who will remain grateful for having shared in George's life are his loving wife, Debra; two daughters, Christy Newsham and Keisha Walter; one son, Corbin Smith; five grandchildren; five siblings; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
George's family will host a Celebration of Life service on June 1 at 12 p.m. - 2 p.m., with full military honors at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lung Cancer Foundation of America in honor of George.
