Four Warrenton wrestlers placed first in their weight class to help the Warriors placed second as a team at their home tournament.
Joshua Kassing, Manny McCauley, Jacob Ruff and Zayden Teson won their weight classes at the Jim Hardy Memorial Wrestling Tournament.
Ruff remained undefeated on the season by winning all four of his matches to win the 215-pound weight class. Ruff won his first three matches by fall to advance to the championship match. He beat teammate Elias McPike 20-3 on a technical fall to win the weight class. McPike won all three of his matches prior to his loss to Ruff and placed second in the weight class.
Kassing, McCauley and Teson each won all three of their matches by fall to win their respective weight classes. Kassing won the 132-pound weight class with a pin in 4:53 over Normandy wrestler Jacob Rhodes in the championship match. McCauley pinned Paxton Crane of Hallsville in 1:21 to win the 113-pound weight class. Teson beat Father Tolton wrestler Athan Briggs by fall in 5:19 in the championship match in the 106-pound weight class.
Jeremiah Kassing earned a second place finish in the 126-pound weight class. Kassing earned two wins by fall before falling to Christopher Ankenman of Father Tolton in 5:19 in the championship match.
Noah Lohrmann responded from a semifinal loss to win his final two matches and placed third in the 138-pound weight class. Lohrmann won four of his five matches during the tournament. Lohrmann beat D’Monte Bagby of St. Charles on a 16-7 major decision in the third place match.
Nicholas Logan won three matches. He placed fourth in the 144-pound weight class. Lucas Burroughs won two matches. He placed sixth in the 190-pound weight class.
Three Lady Warriors compete at Seckman
All three Warrenton girls wrestlers won multiple matches at the Seckman Invite last weekend.
Allison Vacek won a pair of matches and placed sixth in the 155A weight class. She won her first two matches before dropping her final three matches of the tournament.
Dakota Lohrmann won her first three matches and placed second in the 120B weight class. She earned wins by fall over Linley Wehner of Ste. Genevieve and Kaylee Smith of Farmington. She beat Hannibal wrestler Malika Sturm on a 7-1 decision before falling to Tiara Korman of Seckman in her final match.
Natalie Sibert won four matches and placed third in the 110C weight class. All four of Sibert’s wins came by fall. She beat Fox wrestler Hailey Bollman in 45 seconds in the third place match.
