Eva Lorene McGee (nee: Dieckmann) of O'Fallon, passed away on Tuesday, February 6. She was born on May 24, 1930, in Vandalia, to the late Everett Roy and Opal Marie Dieckmann (nee: Jennings.) Lorene had reached the age of 93 years.
Lorene was united in marriage to Floyd Lee McGee on June 26, 1948, in Warrenton, and they shared 57 wonderful years together before his passing in 2005. To this union, three children were born, Brenda, Bruce, and Beth. She was an avid bowler, enjoyed playing golf and traveling. She was always ready to play a game of cards. Lorene was a huge St. Louis Cardinal Baseball fan and enjoyed attending any sporting events for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed watching game shows and keeping up with the current events. Most of all, spending time with her family is what meant the most to her.
Those who remain grateful for having shared in Lorene's life are her loving children, Brenda Ploudre, Bruce (Connie) McGee, and Beth McGee; her cherished grandchildren, Laura Pope, Allison (John) Grib, and Brian (Cindy) McGee; her treasured great-grandchildren, Emily, Natalie, and Andrew Pope, Ava and Alexis McGee, and Leah, Jessica, and Nicole Grib; and other dear relatives. Lorene is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Floyd; her parents, Everett and Opal Dieckmann, her daughter-in-law, Janet McGee; and her son-in-law, Robert Ploudre. She was a dear mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many.
A visitation for Lorene will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Friday, February 9, with an 11 a.m. Celebration of Life Service to immediately follow at Martin Funeral Home, in Warrenton. Burial to follow in the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in honor of Lorene c/o Martin Funeral Home.
