Emmet A Brakensiek

Emmet Brakensiek passed away on December 29, at the age of 95 Years.

He was the beloved husband of Doris Brakensiek nee Groeper of Wright City; He is survived by his wife, five daughters, Nancy Logan, Alice Zoellner, Jane (Tony) Blanton, Terri  Baker, Gerri (Darrell) Smith; son, James Logan; grandchildren, Angela, Brian, Cheryl, Beth, Michelle, Antoinette, Sean, Justin, Rikki, Matthew, Megan; great-grandchildren, Sophie, Sadie, Diamond, Kimberly, Autumn, Amber, Dakota, Thomas, Isabella, Sammy, Easton, Adelynn, Cheyenne, Breanne, Neveah, Skyler, Maiya, Aliyah, Kolton, James, Atlas, and Elliot; great-great-grandchildren, Daxton, Zoey, Zayda, Allison.  He is preceded in death by his father, George  Brakensiek, mother, Dena Brakensiek nee Freese; brother, Carl Brakensiek; sisters, Lucille Kidd and Lottie Gudahl.

Emmet was a member of  Immanuel UCC Church in Wright City. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and also was the past commander of the Wright City VFW. He was a wonderful, kind, and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, and friend to many.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Thursday, January 5, from 2:30 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. Funeral Services will be Friday, January 6, at 10 A.M. at Immanuel UCC, 141 N Service Rd W., Wright City. Interment following funeral service at Wright City Cemetery.
