Mr. Donald William May, of Jefferson City, formerly of Warrenton, passed away on Monday, November 9, 2020. He was born on September 13, 1935, in St. Louis, to the late Charles and Gertrude (nee: Bailey) May. Donald had reached the age of 85 years 1 month and 27 days.
Don was married to Kathleen Margaret Connely on March 31, 1953, in Pocahontas, AR. They celebrated 67 wonderful years of marriage together. To this union, 6 children were born. Don was the owner of May Service, which began in Wright City in 1983. He then moved the business to Warrenton in 1987. Don was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching the St. Louis Cardinal Baseball as well as the St. Louis Blues Hockey. Don was a devoted family man and thoroughly enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He loved to work in his yard and tend to his garden. Don also enjoyed woodworking and doing puzzles.
Don was preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Gertrude, one son Donald May Jr., one sister; Vera (Dot) McKinnon. Grateful for having shared his life are his loving wife; Kathleen, his children; Donna Deetz and husband Michael, Janice Wagner, Diane Kessler and husband Harry, Kenneth May and wife Annette, Skip May and wife Denice; 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life for Mr. Donald William May will be held on Monday, November 16, 2020, 5:30 PM p.m.- 8:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. The Celebration Service will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, beginning at 10:00 a.m. also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis.
