Donald Ray Buford

Donald Ray Buford passed away on September 19, 2021, at the age of 88.  Donald was born May 2, 1933, in Kansas City, MO to George R. "Ray" and Ore Oma Lucille Buford nee Norris.

Donald and Patty were united in marriage on April 18, 1953, and celebrated 68 years of marriage. Donald served in the U.S. Coast Guard from June 1952 to April 1956. After serving in the Coast Guard Donald went on to work for McDonnell Douglas as a mechanical engineer, while working for McDonnell Douglas Don was also in the Coast Guard Reserves as a Master Chief from 1975-1992. In 1992 Don retired from both McDonnell Douglas and the Reserves.  Following retirement from McDonnell Douglas, Don became a Pastor and he served the congregation of Big Springs, MO Liberty Baptist Church as well, he served at many different churches in Montgomery and Warren Counties. Donald was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church in Warrenton.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

Don is survived by his beloved wife, Patty Jo Embree Buford of Warrenton, MO; three sons, Mike (Janet) Buford of Troy, MO, Gary (Rena) Buford of Troy, MO, David Buford of Placentia, CA; three grandsons, Shannon (Julie) Buford, Kyle (Corey) Buford, Nathan Buford; four granddaughters, Meghan (Jay) Boaz, Shelby (Eddie) Smock, Leah (Derrick) Buford, Danielle Buford; 3 great-grandchildren Elise Buford, Deacon Boaz and Rigsby Boaz.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Raymond Buford, mother, Ore Oma Lucille Buford, sister, Barbara Jean Allen, grandson, Buck Raymond Buford.  

Visitation will be held Thursday, September 23, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Pitman Funeral Home, 904 S. Hwy 47, Warrenton, MO 63383.

Funeral services will be held Friday, September 24, 2021, at 10:00 a.m., at Pitman Funeral Home, Warrenton.

Interment will be held at Jonesburg City Cemetery.
