Dennis Harris of Wentzville, passed away on August 19, at the age of 73. He was the beloved husband of Tonya Harris (nee: Minard) of Wentzville; He is survived by his four sons, Jason (Kate) Harris of Wentzville, Jeremy (Amanda) Harris of Wentzville, Nicholas (Nicole) Harris of Wentzville, Jonathan (Kristin) Harris of Troy; grandchildren Anna Harris, Megan (James) King, Elizabrth (Levi) Riportella, Kylie (Josh) Sample, Trinity Harris, Jake Harris, Gavin Harris, Levi Harris, Gracyn Harris, Julianna Harris, Lyla Harris; great-grandchild, Johannes Pitcher; brothers, Charles Harris and Donald Harris; He is preceded in death by his father, Charles "Bud" Harris, mother, Mildred "Millie" Harris (nee: Hollander), and dear son, Zachary Harris.
Dennis was born October 14, 1950 in Saint Charles, to the late Charles "Bud" and Mildred "Millie" Harris. Dennis married the love of his life Tonya and from this union five sons were born. Jason, Jeremy, Zachary, Nicholas, and Jonathan.
Harris Automotive and Tire is family-owned and operated. The business was started in 1985 by Dennis Harris. Dennis grew up in Wentzville where he started mechanics at an early age, following in his father’s footsteps. He built his first go-cart at the age of 10 from an old lawn mower and some tubing. This early passion for mechanics lead him to starting a business he loves to do. He retired in 2018. Dennis had many accomplishments in life and was part of Mo Hare Scrambles, Christian Motorcycle Association (CMA), STL Karting Association, Wentzville Rod Run- Benefiting the Dare Program, and Collaborative start of St. John's Mercy-Burn Unit.
Dennis loved God, his family, helping people, traveling, being outdoors, go karting, dirt bike racing, ATV riding, mountain biking, riding motorcycles and woodworking. Dennis will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A visitation will be held August 23, from 2:30 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Pitman Funeral Home in Wentzville. Family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home -Wentzville. In honor of Dennis, donations may be made to: Child Advocacy Center or Christian Motorcycle Association .
