Constitution reading planned for Friday

Posted

The Daughters of the American Revolution, Thomas Kennedy Chapter will host a public reading of the United States Constitution Friday, Sept. 17, in celebration of Constitution Week.

DAR officers in period-appropriate dress will perform readings of the Constitution from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the Warren County Courthouse at the corner of Main Street and Market Street in Warrenton.

"Political affiliation has no bearing on the value of this document. It is the responsibility of us citizens to elect persons of high principles to fill the seats of government," said DAR chapter officer Gloria Rodale. "This document is the blueprint of how our government is constructed. It remains the envy of the world."
