Clyde Albert Bachelor Jr. died on December 25, 2020, at the age of 89 years. He was born August 8, 1931, in Detroit, Michigan to parents Clyde and Helene (DeVriendt) Bachelor. Clyde married Lorraine M. Putman in Detroit on July 22, 1950. Following her death in 2013, he later married Cynthia M. Morton of O’Fallon, Illinois.
Clyde served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force as an Intelligence Specialist during the Korean War and later graduated from Michigan State University with help from the Korean G.I. Bill. His career encompassed the fields of engineering, data processing, and accounting. He was a Revenue Executive with the Michigan Department of Treasury prior to moving to Warrenton, Missouri in 1976. He held data processing management positions at the State of Michigan, Child Evangelism Fellowship, and Clark Oil Company before retiring in 1998 as Fiscal Officer at Boonslick Regional Planning Commission.
Clyde was instrumental in the organization of Grace Bible Church of Warrenton, along with others of Child Evangelism Fellowship, in November 1976. A charter member of Grace, he served on the Church governing board for over 30 years in various positions including Chairman, but primarily as Treasurer.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia; daughter, Debbie and Kevin Luecke of Warrenton; son, Richard and Tracy Bachelor of Courtland, Virginia; grandchildren, Kelsey McPherson (Daniel), Dustin (Clary) and Ethan Luecke, RuthAnn and Lori Bachelor; great-granddaughter, Harper Luecke; nephews Donald and Dennis (Joan) Putman; niece, Sheryl Nalley.
He enjoyed his extended family of Cynthia’s relatives, step-son, Bart Donnell; step-daughter, Kim Donnell, and Kent; many others including many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitation at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton on Wednesday, January 6, 2020, 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Services starting at 12:00 p.m. officiated by Pastor Mark Meyers of Grace Bible Church, with interment following at Lippstadt Cemetery.
