Mrs. O. Cheryl Turnbull (nee: Gilpin), of Warrenton, joined her Lord in Glory on Thursday, August 3. She was born on June 30, 1947, in Jefferson City, to the late Oliver and Vera Gilpin (nee: Loesch). Cheryl had reached the age of 76 years.
Cheryl was united in marriage to Harold D. Turnbull on July 8, 1965, and spent 43 wonderful years together before his passing on August 8, 2008. To this union, one child was born, Christine. Cheryl worked for several local businesses over her lifetime, including Katie Jane nursing home, Beacon Shoe Factory, Rock-Ten and Wal-Mart to name a few.
Those that are grateful for having shared in Cheryl's life are her daughter, Christine Fichter, her favorite son-in-law William Sanker; her 5 sisters, Rhonda Weinkein (Gene), Lea Tuttle, Ceena Eigenman, Jeanne Brant (Tom), and Monica Snider; she was blessed with 14 nieces and nephews, Sheila Dedrick, Greg Ousley, Angela Adduci, Chuck Tuttle, Heather Barton, Tyrel Tuttle, Nicholas Tuttle, Alexander Brant, Wesley Brandt, Tracy Serstad, and special nephew, Brandon Eigenman. Cheryl is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Harold D. Turnbull, her parents, Oliver and Vera Gilpin, one brother-in-law, JR Turnbull, and nephew George H. Ousley III (Jay). She was a dear aunt, grand aunt, great-grandaunt, cousin, and friend to many.
A visitation will be held from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. on Tuesday, August 8, with a 12 p.m. Celebration of Life service to immediately follow at Martin Funeral Home, in Warrenton. A burial will follow in the Warrenton City Cemetery. Memorial donations are appreciated to Comfort Cases in honor of Cheryl c/o Martin Funeral Home.
