An issue with the capstones has caused a delay in the Charters of Freedom project at the Tribute to Veterans Memorial in Warrenton.
Two of the three stones that would be used as part of the display to house replicas of the Declaration of Independence, U.S. Constitution, and Bill of Rights were cracked.
It will take six to eight weeks to replace them, forcing construction work to be halted until spring.
Because of the delay, though, the deadline to purchase a paver to support the project has been extended.
Brick paver and donor plate sponsorships are being sold to assist with paying for the project.
Those who are interested can contact Kathy at 636-544-5210 or Beth at 636-578-2407. Pavers can also be purchased at chartersoffreedom.com.
