By Chris OrletRecord Managing EditorWith the April 8 municipal election three months away, several candidates have filed for seats on local school boards.Deadline for filing is 5 p.m. Jan. 21.There are three director positions up for grabs on the Warren County R-III Board of Education.The terms of Beth Banze, Teresa Scott and Scott Costello (serving the remainder of Lisa Waltrip’s term), will expire this spring. Directors serve three-year terms.Those who have filed are: John Todd, 16400 Pleasant Hill, Wright City; Scott Costello, 522 Shilling Oaks Drive, Warrenton; Teresa Scott, 422 Timber Drive, Warrenton; and Laurie Wenzel, 18743 Hilltop Lane, Warrenton.There are three director positions open on the Wright City R-II Board of Education.The terms of Corri Ruge, Melissa Springmeyer and Joe Butterfield will expire this spring. The directors serve three-year terms.Filing for office are: Corri Ruge, P.O. Box 428, Wright City; Joe Butterfield, 307 Veterans Memorial Parkway, Wright City; and Heidi Neill, 107 Neill Drive, Wright City.In the Washington School District, which takes in portions of southern Warren County, two candidates filed opening day, including incumbent Scott Byrne, 261 Hunters Ridge Drive, Labadie, and newcomer Janie Chalem, 410 Brookfield Drive, Washington.There are three open seats on the board.Candidates must be U.S. citizens and resident taxpayers of the district, who have resided in Missouri for one year preceding the election.Candidates also must be at least 24 years of age, not a registered sex offender, not serving a sentence or period of probation for a felony or a crime that if committed in Missouri would have been a felony, and never been convicted of or pled guilty to a felony misdemeanor under federal laws.Candidates file for school board elections
