Mrs. Betty Jean Polston (nee: Ray), of Warrenton, passed away on Monday, January 27, at the age of 83 years. She was born on May 4, 1941 in Fayetteville, NC to the late Charles and Clara (nee: Milligan) Ray.
Betty was united in marriage to William Charles Polston on January 2, 1960 in Dillon, SC. This union was blessed with two children, Chuck and Dawn. Betty worked for several years in nursing homes. She dedicated her time to helping others, working in a role which involved cleaning and caring for residents, ensuring their well-being and comfort. Her kindness and commitment to service were deeply appreciated by those she supported. She enjoyed cooking and doing word search puzzles. She enjoyed gardening and loved having flowers in her yard. Betty loved watching the Hallmark channel and was known for watching Christmas movies in July. Betty loved her family and loved caring and cooking for each of them. She especially enjoyed her grandchildren.
Betty Polston was preceded in death by her husband, William Polston; her parents, Charles and Clara Ray; three sisters and two brothers. She is survived by her children, William "Chuck" Polston and wife Tara and Dawn Poore and husband Terry; 6 grandchildren, Andrew Poore (Marilyn), Christopher Polston (Kaycee), Kyleigh Polston, Emma Polston, Jack Polston and Madi Polston; five great grandchildren, Alex, Rowan, Liam, Rayna and Silas; other relatives and many friends.
A Celebration of Life visitation will be held on Thursday, January 30, from 5 P.M. - 8 P.M. at Martin Funeral Home in Warrenton. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, January 31, at the JCC - Jonesburg Christian Church at 12 P.M. with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. A burial will follow at Macedonia Cemetery in Warrenton. Memorial donations are suggested to be given to Macedonia Cemetery or the JCC- Jonesburg Christian Church c/o Martin Funeral Home.
