By Janine DavisRecord Staff WriterThe organizers of a new group of young professionals hope their organization will fuel the next generation of business and civic leaders. The Young Professionals group is an offshoot of the Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce and will function independently to meet the unique needs of young business people and the community they serve.“We’re building a team of professionals who are wanting to improve their leadership and marketing skills, network with other young businesspeople and increase their impact within the community,” said Adam Maechling, one of four key organizers of the group and a financial adviser for Prudential in Warrenton.Along with Maechling, those helping organize the group are Katie Jaspering of Great Clips, Marcia Taylor of First Bank and Zach Williams of US Bank. The group’s first meeting is planned for Jan. 16 at the Warren County Extension Office, with subsequent meetings planned for the third Thursday of each month at different locations.Maechling said the meetings will feature civic and business leaders as speakers, along with field trips. These will provide members lessons and ideas for furthering their careers here.“Everyone has their own take and approach to business and most are working a business plan, but doing business here is different from other markets,” said Maechling. “The Warrenton area has its own set of customs and requirements, and those insights are a lot of what we want to share with each other.”Noting that the target age range for members is 20 to 40, Maechling said the group welcomes professionals who are in the approximate age zone.Maechling said that while the group is part of the Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce, it will have its own agenda set by the Young Professionals membership. He stressed that the organization will develop based on the wants and needs of the membership. “We’re entirely open to suggestions,” he said.“We are investing in this organization, so we’re really looking for people who are excited about building on their careers here and who want to put in the time and be active with us,” Maechling added. For details about upcoming meetings, people may contact the Warrenton Chamber office at 636-456-2530.Young Professionals group is an offshoot of the Warrenton Area Chamber
